How do yoga exercises help in relieving stress? What are yoga poses to reduce stress?

Good day, everybody, my name is Silvia, and I am 26 years old. I am so sorry that I ask so many questions here, and I might bother you with them, but I really like how everybody here is helpful and open to every problem. My last question about yoga for today is connected with relieving stress.

I have heard a stereotype that yoga really helps with relieving stress. Sometimes we can hear in stressul situations “Breath deeper” and it is taken from yoga too. So, is it really true that yoga helps people with stress? What simple yoga poses do you know to relieve stress? Are these exercises can be done at home? Which stress free yoga asanas are the most effective? How to do properly yoga workouts for stress relief? How to breathe during stress reducing exercises?
Thanks for your help again!

Hello Silva, nice to meet you again! Try these exercises:

Easy Pose (Sukhasana) with Forward Bend

Adding a forward bend increases the exhale, leading to the relaxation response.

Standing Forward Bend (Uttanasana) with Shoulder Opener

Not only do forward bends increase the exhalation, helping to relieve stress, they also turn us inward. Plus, with the arms behind the back, we release shoulder tension. This pose also helps to release the hamstrings, which can get bound up when you’re stuck in fight-or-flight mode.

Wide-Legged Standing Forward Bend (Prasarita Padottanasana)

This pose has the benefits of a forward bend with the comfort of the head touching a prop, which also releases some of the pressure in the head.

Hello Silva!

That is true, not a stereotype. A lot of people who are practice yoga for a long time, change their attitude toward life are calmer and less stressful. Is this a breathing thing?

You will be shocked but there is even yoga to limit stress. Yoga is one of the best methods when you need to cope with stress. The hatha-yoga system (based on the exercise of yoga position and their sequence), provides the appropriate level of physical effort necessary to overcome the physiological changes in the body caused by stress.

Relaxation, which is an inseparable element of yoga practice, removes excessive tension that arises as a result of a stressful situation. It also develops the ability to deal with emotions, the practical dimension being the ability to distance yourself from factors and situations that cause stress.

Enjoy your life and practice yoga!
