Cold tea with hibiscus - an invigorating drink in the period of mass epidemics

This bright-red drink is a little bit bitter, a little bit sweet and maximally refreshing. Dried hibiscus flowers should be made in cold brew, and placed for the night in the refrigerator. According to researchers, this allows the release of useful substances, which hibiscus contains a lot of flavours. These are anthocyanins, and vitamin C, and fruit acids, but most importantly - polysaccharides, which are natural immunity modulators that protect the body. As additional ingredients try using freshly cut ginger, anise, orange zest, lemongrass, opening each time new shapes and flavors of this cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cups dried hibiscus flowers (around 15 grams)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 2 tablespoons syrup/honey
  • lime slices

Instructions

  • Place the hibiscus and the cinnamon stick in a large jar or bowl.
  • Add water.
  • Cover it, and put inti the refrigerator for the night (from 8 to 12 hours).
  • Add syrup if you want to.
  • Strain.
  • Use lime slices and ice for serving at will.
  • You can contain this cocktail, like many other fall cocktails, in a refrigerator for about one week.
